Recently I was asked to participate in a monthly challenge with another group of photographers, many of whom are admired & well-respected in our industry. It’s such an honor to get to take part in these challenges with them, some that I know personally, others that I know through a friend-of-a-friend and still others who I am meeting for the first time. It’s a way for us to challenge ourselves, think creatively & passionately about a given theme and present our work to the world. I love it & couldn’t be more excited to be joining my colleagues in some photographic fun. Kind of exciting to show you some other things we do behind the scenes.
At the end of this post I will link to the next photographer’s blog for you to check out & see their interpretation of the chosen theme. If you would like to play along, leave your link to your blog in the comments section below.
May’s theme is Self-Portrait.

Self Portraits are definitely not an easy or natural thing for me. But I had fun trying to test myself & do something I knew would make me a little uncomfortable.
Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new. – Brian Tracy
Next on the blog carousel is Atlanta baby and child photographer Corey Sewell, stop by & take a peek. Enjoy the blog carousel!

These are great – slices or glimpses of YOU. I love this interpretation of self portrait! Very creative!
I love the first one especially, so creative and alluring. I am sitting here trying to envision your process. Nice to ‘see’ you, at least a part of you, Chelsey!
These are so creative! Really cool images that I could see hanging in a gallery. Nice to “meet” you!

I love that first shot of you Chelsey! Such a creative way to get the shot…and still sort of avoid the lens
