We have been on a green smoothie kick for … years now! I started our family journey with The Raw Divas back in January of 2011 – it looks like they now just fall under Tera Werner but either way, you can find their site here - http://www.terawarner.com right there on the site Tera has a free 3-day green smoothie challenge to get you going. I remember how it was when I started: completely overwhelming. I had known for months this is one thing I wanted to bring to the forefront for our family, but I didn’t know how! Doing their quick challenge (back then I think it was more like 7-14 days) really helped me focus on the positives and just have a place to start. Because sometimes that’s what we really need help with – just starting! If you are thinking about going raw, there is also some great information for you right there.
A depiction of what it often feels like, starting something new.

Today, over two years later, we are still huge green smoothie fans and incorporate them into our life, daily. In fact, I just upgraded our blender (we did all of this over the years with a regular household blender) to a Ninja at the start of this year. Fred’s was having some sort of sale (and I don’t believe they carry the higher professional grade blenders like the Blendtec and Vitamix) so I had to jump on it & snag one. I’ve never been so excited about a blender in my life.

After several years, we were ready to mix it up again and try out some new recipes. Here are some recipes our family loves!
Hawaiian Blast
3/4 jar sliced pineapple, 2 bananas, large apple, small avocado, ice + O.N.E. Coconut Water - blend & enjoy!
Pear + Avocado
1 pear, 1 avocado, handful of spinach, banana, coconut water & ice.
Cucumber-Bluberry
1 cucumber, 2 cups of frozen blueberries, 1 cup of pear juice – blend with ice
The Mach Breakfast Smoothie Go-To
1 banana, 1/2 of large avocado, 3 cups of coconut water – ice mix, 1 apple, 1 pear, large handful of spinach, 1 cup of frozen blueberries or raspberries
The Dessert Smoothie (obvious favorite)
2 cups of coconut water, 2 large scoops of vanilla bean ice cream, one and a half cups of blueberries, 1/2 cup of raspberries – and blend!
*modify to your liking … cause really, it’s all about tastebuds, so you may need more of some ingredients, less of others.
Another great new fun resource is Simple Green Smoothies. You can find them on facebook and IG too.
And one of my personal favorites for finding (& tweaking) recipes? http://www.marthastewart.com/smoothies-recipe-app
LOVE this app. You should try it out!
So tell me, what is your favorite green smoothie recipe?

Oooh – fun! Thanks for the recipes! I haven’t started smoothies, but we’ve been juicing since I ended my treatments last fall. When I say “we,” I mean that my hubby does all the juicing for us.
Smoothies would be great to add, though…

I need to check that out! I juice occasionally (more in the summer when we have lots of fruits on hand), but just never really got into it because only time I could really do it was on the weekends. I guess weekends are better than nothing though!
