Art that is part of our “home”, where we live … interesting, local … us together, showing our love, joy and a sense of inner peace. That is part of what my friend Miesha described to me when we started the initial phase of planning their family session. As they are quietly spending their last few days together before Fred heads back to Afghanistan, I wanted to show a few from their gallery, while still leaving a few surprises left unseen.
Their session was full of joy & love … and yes, little moments of peace. Hard to imagine when you have an eight-year-old and an almost-four-year-old, but it does happen!
And this little one I’ve known since she was a mere 9 months old. I can’t believe how big she’s getting. And now she takes care of my little girl whenever we see her – being the perfect mother hen. Two younger sisters, bound together by such nurturing & love.
I am *especially* thrilled about this one … mom was a little … apprehensive let’s say
that we wouldn’t get ‘a real smile’ out of this one … but you know what? I think we may have to check that off the list. He’s such a handsome cutie isn’t he?!
I hope you can start your Monday off with love, hugs and a quiet moment or two with the ones you love. Miesha & Fred can tell you that the days slip by all too fast, especially when one of you works half-way across the world. How lucky these two are to have a mom & dad that love them so.
