Friday Already?!?

August 26th, 2011

(& yes, I resemble that remark.) 2.  You can get the monkey off your back, but the circus never leaves town. [...]

Five on Friday. Fresh. Friday. Five.

1. “If you look like your passport picture, you probably need the trip.”  … ohman, I don’t even want to go there. Funny ’cause it’s true. (& yes, I resemble that remark.)

My little friend. I’ve been photographing her & her brothers since she was in the 18 months – 2 year range. Crazy. She’s getting so big! More on them soon.

Happy Weekend’ing!

And then we turned the page & began the next chapter.

I’m writing this as my images upload from my card after being out with the boy for his “Kindergarten photo shoot” – it’s a new thing we’ve implemented (& apparently hyped up so much that little sister now wants her own “just starting pre-school photo shoot” – who knew! I’m writing this as my images upload from my card after being out with the boy for his “Kindergarten photo shoot” – it’s a new thing we’ve implemented (& apparently hyped up so much that little sister now wants her own “just starting pre-school photo shoot” – who knew! I should employ this tactic more often).

As I sit here watching the images pop up, reminiscing about our ‘date’ tonight I can’t help but reflect on the one image at the end that says it all. That spoke to my heart, even in the moment … I knew … I knew we were crossing that threshold from baby, my baby, into a child – a grown child full of love, personality, spunk & empathy. He asked to go here. This was his special request, ‘you know, that big mud puddle’ said with emphasis. I’m either crazy or want to be the favorite *wink, wink* as by the time our ‘photo shoot’ was done, he was soaked, but beaming & happy.

Me too.

I looked up as we were walking toward the car & saw it … that moment

He’s not really my baby anymore … this big kid, coming toward me … he’s not a baby at all.

No one ever told me the next chapter would start so soon.

Net Newsflash! Tara! & a photo class workshop shout-out.

August 24th, 2011

Hey … Tara’s at my beach.  Hmmmm … it does appear she has more bubbles. And red toes. I didn’t have either. Soooooo unfair. Oh wait. Her beach was in SB, mine, LA. (That must be the difference. ) Love how a snapshot in time really does bring you back to a moment remembered. As [...]

Hey … Tara’s at my beach.

Hmmmm … it does appear she has more bubbles.

And red toes.

I didn’t have either.

Soooooo unfair.

Oh wait.

Her beach was in SB, mine, LA. (That must be the difference. ;) )

Love how a snapshot in time really does bring you back to a moment remembered.

As soon as I saw Tara’s shot, I was instantly transported.

It was a good trip. It was a hard trip. One filled with memories. One filled with emotions. To keep forever.

Hard to believe almost four months have passed since then.
