Since a couple of maternity/newborn items are being awarded as prizes … I thought I would take a minute to share this as well …

I have to admit when Harrison’s mommy wrote this on facebook, it made me tear up as well, “Thanks again Chelsey, I never thought that seeing us through your eyes would be that amazing and emotional thanks for having the kleenex handy!”

Thanks for sharing your beautiful new boy with the world, Jacque! He is so loved already.

What really grabbed my attention was how symbolic ending the year photographing a newborn was for her. And then I realized for me, I literally closed the door on 2011 photographing this beautiful couple & their baby to be. A lovely maternity session, nestled snug in the hills, but still only a few degrees warmer than it was in town. (I saw two people out jogging that day, at twenty-two below zero. Yes … yes I did. I wish I could say I was one of those people who was motivated by that. Instead I literally shivered & went, ohmygawd it’s too cold to be running outside!)

I am so lucky to end & start my year (and continue my career) with something so amazing and so quietly symbolic. Bringing a baby into this world … love … tender kisses … it’s all so representative of what’s to come, ending the year expecting a new little bundle and starting the year fresh & new, with a little one in your arms … and yes, even sunshine ‘on a cloudy day’ rings true. Pretty amazing. Very emotional. Babies will do that to you. And your life.
